IKEA hellacious shipping

My letter to IKEA:

topic: general question

message:

It is upsetting to me that your company refuses to ship to Alaska. I try andorder online and you won't ship. I traveled to Seattle recently and visited thestore, hoping to purchase items, but was told again that IKEA won't ship to Alaska. Please, PLEASE re-examine this policy. Business from our state can not be overlooked, aswe rarely get the quality and value that IKEA offers.

My husband and I have recently purchased a new home, and would like to furnish

it with IKEA items. I'm sure we are not alone.

Their message back to me:

Hello Mbwillow,

THank you for your email. The Seattle store does ship to a barge company or air freight companies that goAlaska. You would have to arrange the transport of your choice. We charge a

$42.00

plus tax delivery fee to the transporter. We can ship most furniture items. We

cannot

ship breakables, like glassware, art work, lamps, etc.

If you are interested we can send you our current catalog and you can work with

our

Phone Order Department.

Our local number is 425 656 2980 and follow the prompts for Phone ORders. If

you get an

answering machine, please speak slowly so your message is recorded clearly.

Leave your

name, phone number, and a good time to reach you.

Or you can email them at [email protected].

Good luck!

Suzie

OK readers....is it worth it? Maybe I'll get a catalog and look, and only if we want to spend over 150$ or so, then it may be worth it...not sure...
