the fights

Hubby's coworker invited us out to one of those Ultimate Fighting things last night. His BIL runs the arena so he gets free tickets to everything. I'd never met hubby's coworker. He, his girlfriend, her sister, me, & hubby all went. It was fun! Lots of blood & violence & beer & testosterone- reminded me of home *sigh* lol.

There was an octogon cage in the center that was locked with the referee & 2 fighters. No real rules- you could use martial arts, grappling, boxing, or just regular street fighting- ANYTHING goes (except eye gouging- that's a no-no).

Anyhow, the matchups weren't that great- one guy always immediately kicked the other guys ass. Most fights didn't last longer than a minute or so, which sucked. EXCEPT for the ladies fight! 2 undefeated ladies not from around here were brought up and it was GREAT! They were excellently matched and went at it. The ladies fight was by far the best one of the night. It was obvious they took it very seriously. It's too bad that the ape men that were there didn't. Comments like "PULL HER HAIR!" and "GIVE HER A TITTY TWISTER!" were screamed constantly. Of course, no derogatory sexual remarks were yelled at the GUYS.

Anyway, the mix of alcohol and testosterone spilled out into the street, for as we walked to the car there were 2 guys kicking the shit out of each other in the parking lot, and a huge crowd formed. All traffic leaving the stadium stopped and people climbed in the beds of their trucks to watch. Good grief.

I like the people we went with. They talked about inviting us to go again with them in August for the next scheduled fights. I don't see us as all becoming best friends, but the company of different people was nice- it was good to meet new folks.

And it was good to see some of the guys walking into the ring- OMG, they were in excellent shape and I was... well, let's just say I was really letting my imagination go. MMMMM Come to momma!!!!!!
